When I was asked to document this family's joy with the birth of their new baby boy, all my insecurities about newborn photography began to rear their ugly heads. After all, there are so many sweet, adorable newborn photos on social media, could I ever live up to that standard? I spent time online watching a newborn photographer with hats, bows, wraps and more, twist, turn, and push the baby into just the right pose. So much time adjusting to make the baby perfect I wanted to jump through the monitor and scream "Just take the darn picture. Aren't babies perfect just as they are?"

Reassuring myself I've taken photos of this family before so they must like my style. Armed with my camera, a few lenses, a flash, and a can do attitude we captured some sweet family moments with six day old Bentley and his protective big brother Sawyer. He was rocking his It's a Southern Thing monogram hat & onesie, and even gave us a hint of a smile or two. Excited for these parents and their sweet little boys.
